BOYNECLARKE LLP is honoured to once again be a part of International Women’s Day on Tuesday, March 8th, 2016.
This year, in connection with the Women’s Forum of the Nova Scotia Branch of the CBA, BOYNECLARKE LLP will be involved in the fourth annual International Women’s Day collection drive for women’s shelters and transition homes throughout the Province. This year’s International Women’s Day theme is “Pledge for Parity,” and part of that is helping women everywhere to achieve their goals and dreams. These incredible organizations throughout Nova Scotia rely greatly on charitable donations to assist women and their children get to safety and to carry out equality seeking prevention initiatives.
On March 8th, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. we invite you to stop by our office to support our local women’s shelters by donating gift cards of smaller denominations ($5,$10,$15,$20 or $25) to enable women to purchase desperately needed items and services. This year, all gift card, cash and cheque donations collected will be divided equally among all participating shelters in the province.
The shelters have identified a need for gift cards from the following:
- grocery stores
- department stores
- gas stations
- restaurants
- Tim Horton’s
- movie cinemas
- dollar stores
- drugstores
While a gift card may not seem like much, please keep in mind that gift cards empower the individual woman, in allowing her to get something she, or her children need, specifically for themselves.
If you prefer to donate items, please consider the following:
- toiletries (travel size) including tooth brushes, soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, hand sanitizer, etc.
- full sized hair brushes
- towels
- face cloths
- PJs (all sizes)
- slippers
- twin sized sheets
Items donated in each region of the province will remain in that region to support the local women’s shelter(s). Items donated will go to the shelter closest to the drop off location.
We are located in the Metropolitan Place Building at 99 Wyse Road, Suite 600 in Dartmouth (across from the Dartmouth Sportsplex). We will have coffee and cookies offered to folks who drop by with donations! Hope to see you here!
