BOYNECLARKE LLP congratulates Firm Chair John A. Young, Q.C. on becoming a member of the new Provincial Health Authority Board of Directors. Nova Scotia will launch a new health system structure on April 1, 2015. The new structure will consolidate nine current district health authorities into one unified provincial authority, which will partner with the IWK Health Centre.
The government put forth twelve names for appointment to the board. These twelve names have gone forward to the Standing Committee on Human Resources and received Governor in Council approval. John, along with a group of eleven other experienced professionals, listed below, have been selected to lead the new Provincial Health Authority.
John is currently BOYNECLARKE’s Firm Chair and practices in the area of Business Law. He acts on behalf of a wide variety of businesses, government agencies, institutions and not-for-profit organizations and advises their senior management in the creation, operation and expansion of their activities. In addition he is currently serving as Chair of the Canadian Forces Liaison Council (NS), as Chair of the Canadian Maritime Heritage Foundation, as a Director of the Royal Nova Scotia Tattoo Society, and Trustee of St. Andrews United Church, Halifax.
