One evening. Two events. Six student start-ups supported.
The BOYNECLARKE LLP Innovative Ideas Competition will take place on March 20, 2014 at the Westin Nova Scotian.
Organized by the Nova Scotia Association of Community Business Development Corporations (CBDC), and together with the Common Good Solutions Enterprise for Change Competition, students from post secondary schools across Nova Scotia are challenged to develop an innovative product, invention, service, business venture or community service that has the potential to make both an impact and business sense.
Each participating institution will send a student representative to the provincial finals on March 20th to pitch their idea for $10,000 in prize money to further develop the winning idea for market.
Chair of our Business law team, Leah Rimmer will be sitting as one of three judges on the competition’s panel, and Partner Bryce Morrison will be leading a business start up workshop during the event.
Starting at 5:30pm, the top 3 from both the BOYNECLARKE Innovative Ideas Competition and Common Goods Solutions Enterprise for Social Change Competition will pitch their ideas to event attendees in hopes to earn more cash.
‘Support the student start-ups that inspire you. Visit the booths of six student start-ups. See an idea you love? Like a few different ones? Use your magic dollars (given at the event) to directly support the teams and ideas that resonate with you. At the end of the evening the six finalists exchange magic dollars for real cash – to take their ideas to the next level.’
