BOYNECLARKE LLP is thrilled to share that Laura Gilroy will be assuming the role of Director of Finance, effective July 4th, 2023.
Originally from the Truro area, Laura came to Halifax to complete her BComm in accounting. A portion of that program required her to complete a work term, and Laura chose to complete hers with BOYNECLARKE LLP. Following a successful term, Laura was offered a part-time role with the firm until she graduated.
Now, ten years later: “I’ve just never left!” Laura explains with a laugh.
During her time with the firm Laura has worked in Process Improvement, as a Financial Analyst, Controller, and now Director. Her career path has provided her with the unique opportunity to develop a robust and total understanding of how the finance and accounting department operates at our firm.
“I like knowing answers, and I like that our larger team knows that I have them,” says Laura with a smile. “It must be the accountant in me, but I enjoy making sure things balance.”
The firm would like to wish our outgoing Director of Finance, Peter Duggan, a very happy retirement.
Peter has spent the past 23 years keeping us on track, since joining the firm in April 2000. Peter has seen many changes in that time and has guided our accounting team through with his experience and knowledge. No matter what he has been faced with, Peter has always maintained a pleasant, calm demeanor and has worked tirelessly for the best interest of the firm and the team.
