Posted in: News

BOYNECLARKE LLP, one of Atlantic Canada’s largest law firms, is pleased to announce the January 28, 2014, appointment of Tim Hill as Queen’s Counsel. This prestigious designation is an honour presented to a select group of lawyers in recognition of leadership in the practice of law and in our community.

Tim’s practice is focused on secured creditor rights and liabilities, bankruptcy and insolvency, as well as debt restructuring and commercial real estate litigation. During his career, Tim has been involved in many of the largest insolvency matters arising within the province of Nova Scotia. Tim is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, and the International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Professionals (INSOL).

A frequent speaker on his areas of law, Tim has also been a part-time lecturer at Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law since 1998, teaching the Bankruptcy & Insolvency course.

Tim has been included in the 2014 edition of The Best Lawyers in Canada for Insolvency and Financial Restructuring. In October 2012, Tim was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award of the National Bankruptcy, Insolvency & Restructuring Section of the Canadian Bar Association. This is an annual award made nationally to one recipient “for achieving professional excellence, providing leadership, and making significant contributions to the Canadian insolvency community”.

Committed to our community, Tim has been chairman of the St. Margaret’s Community Centre Association since 1998.  He led the expansion of the Centre beginning in 1999, which culminated in the construction of the new facility in 2005. The Centre was awarded the prestigious Recreation Nova Scotia Bluenose Award in 2011.

Congratulations, Tim!
