About Emma

Emma is an Associate in our Civil Litigation group.

Born and raised in Delta, British Columbia, Emma moved to Nova Scotia in 2014 to pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration at St. Francis Xavier University. Her Honours Thesis explored the intersection of healthcare, law, and religion within palliative care environments, sparking a deep interest in the complexities of health law.

Captivated by the East Coast and the welcoming Nova Scotia community, Emma returned in 2019 to complete combined Juris Doctor and Master of Health Administration degrees at Dalhousie University. During her studies, Emma undertook a clerkship at the Nova Scotia Supreme Court (Family Division), a residency with Nova Scotia Health, and participated in the Gale Cup and Smith Shield Moot competitions, gaining valuable experience in oral advocacy. Emma also served as President of the Association of Health Administration Students and enjoyed teaching and learning from students of diverse educational and professional backgrounds as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for Healthcare and Advanced Healthcare law classes.

Emma currently sits on the Board of Directors for Hearing and Speech Nova Scotia and has served as a member of the Leadership Team at Good Shepherd Parish in Halifax since 2022. When she is not in the office or volunteering in her community, Emma spends her time running, swimming, and convincing others to join her on the pickleball court. Equally passionate about (though perhaps less adept at) the arts, she can often be heard belting out the Hamilton soundtrack or found hunting for vinyl to add to her collection of Big Band records.
