About Alex

Alex takes very seriously the trust that people place in her to assist them in navigating their way through what is often a complex and emotional journey. She appreciates the importance of making sure that her clients understand the legal process and have a voice in the outcome. In handling family law matters, Alex takes a practical and direct approach to all stages of the case, including settlement, mediation and litigation.

Working closely with both the Family Law and Business Law teams at BOYNECLARKE LLP, Alex has experience in both areas of practice. As there are many nuances involved when a separating spouse owns a business, Alex’s practice focuses on those matters that have a business component, specifically working with spouses who own businesses. As a result, Alex works on cases involving the valuations of businesses, income determinations and issues of child and spousal support. Despite this focus, Alex also handles all matters related to family law, including divorce resulting from the breakdown of a relationship, spousal support issues, child support issues and custody and parenting plans.

Alex has worked on a broad range of Family Law matters involving complex divorce litigation and custody files, separations involving the division of multi-faceted corporations, international applications, along with many traditional, straight forward separations.

Alex brings a wide range of legal experience to her work as a Family Law lawyer. A native of Australia, Alex worked in a corporate advisory firm as a corporate analyst, helping with large scale restructures and administrations. Prior to joining BOYNECLARKE LLP as an articling clerk, Alex worked as a transactions analyst at an accounting firm in Nova Scotia, assisting with deals relating to the purchase and sale of corporations. Alex completed her Bachelor of Laws with honours at Bond University on the Gold Coast in Australia. Additionally, she completed a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Finance which has assisted her in refining her area of focus in dealing with Family Law files involving corporate aspects.

In addition to spending time with her family and friends, Alex enjoys being outdoors, running, trying new restaurants and spending time with her Golden Retriever, Boomer.
