The BOYNECLARKE LLP Professional Regulation Team has acted for a number of self-regulating professions including engineers, surveyors, and a variety of medical and associated health professions over the past decade. Our lawyers are also actively involved in matters concerning our own Bar Society. Located in Halifax – Dartmouth, we advise and act on behalf of these professions with regard to corporate governance, professional standards, discipline, and aspects of the law that affect these professions.

We also act for individuals regarding members’ rights, professional privileges, and disciplinary matters.

In addition, we participate in the drafting of legislation that affects the self-regulating professions, such as the Medical Act, QEII Health Services Centre Act, and similar legislation and regulations.

The Professional Regulation Team anticipates public policy issues and changing standards (for example, in professional conduct and accountability) that are likely to affect these organizations and their members. We then provide advice in order to assist them in meeting these challenges.
