About Leah

Leah has been practicing corporate law with BOYNECLARKE since 2005 and carries on a varied corporate practice advising small-medium business owners across a spectrum of industries, as well as certain sub-specialties for which she is well known.

Leah has become recognized throughout Atlantic Canada and beyond as a leading lawyer in the independent pharmacy acquisition and advising space. She has acted for both purchasers and vendors on dozens of transactions from the transition of a single-store pharmacy, to those involving multiple locations and complex financing structures. She thoroughly enjoys the complexity of these matters and dealing with pharmacist-owners.

In addition, Leah carries on a significant practice advising a variety of lending institutions on all levels of financing including complex multi-loan arrangements and acts for Borrowers on their own financing matters and commercial real estate acquisitions.

A life-long resident of Halifax, community is important to Leah. Leah and her husband Darren enjoy a full life with their four dynamic kids; Sam, Joe, Ben and Mary. She is an active volunteer at LeMarchant St-Thomas Elementary School and with her kids’ many sports teams. Leah has been involved with the Halifax Chamber of Commerce’s popular “Wonder Women” series since its inception and has been a featured panelist and speaker at each of these events, fueling her passion for women building up other women in business and life.

When not working, volunteering or at the hockey rink, Leah prioritizes time for herself through a daily commitment to physical fitness, in particular long-distance running, and she has recently completed both the Boston and New York Marathons. Leah believes passionately a healthy life is a fundamental component to success and allows her to perform at the highest level both at work and at home. She is proud to be part of a firm that shares these values.
